Burnaby fentanyl lab busted

The Surrey Leader is reporting that Delta Police busted a fentanyl drug lab in a Burnaby condo and seized over 16 kilograms of cocaine and heroin. They also seized nine firearms and two noise suppressors, over 100 kilograms of cutting agents, more than 4,500 oxycodone or oxycontin pills, more than a kilogram of methamphetamine, and 125 grams of pure fentanyl were seized. Well done. Fentanyl is deadly. Methamphetamine is crystal meth.

CBC posted pictures of how filthy it was. $1.5 million was also seized. Meanwhile back on the ranch, Surrey logged it's 40th shooting on Wednesday. Kevin Diakiw put out a thought provoking article on mental illness and drug addiction. It's an old series but I just noticed it and find it timely.

  1. Hah! Good job on the Investigators responsible for this bust, I wonder if someone will get their patch pulled or maybe just disappear as a result of this....

People think I'm anti-cop. Not at all. I'm anti-bad/crooked/lazy/corrupt/abusive/stupid/arrogant cop.

The cops behind this bust deserve our congratulations/thanks, I'd definitely be buying a round for these guys. They've probably saved a few lives if the recent fentanyl deaths are anything to go by.

  2. Aren't the Delta Police a municipal police force and not an RCMP detachment. Perhaps that is the difference. It seems the Abbotsford Police Dept. does its fair share of work also.

It would suggest Surrey's RCMP detachment isn't going to be doing any "real" work for some time. The Mayor and RCMP detachment c.e.o. SEEM to be just fine with the present condition. I'm sure that 40 will double by the end of the year.

    1. I never really thought about that before. You make a good point. We hear all kinds of busts going on all over BC and Alberta but nothing from the Surrey RCMP detachment. Bill Fordy is indeed too busy with *other* things.
