Drive by shooting in Surrey

The Surrey Now is reporting that there was a drive by shooting in Surrey 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, in the 12100-block of 82nd Avenue. Numeorus shots were fired into a house in Newton. People were inside the house at the time.

BC Local News is reporting that a Maple ridge man named Christopher Leigh Harmes was in possession of fentanyl, a synthetic opiate that is similar to heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

This is why you don't trust sensationalist and ignorant journalists for accuracy in reporting......Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate but that's as far as it goes......it's used for pain management, similar usage profile to morphine or hydromorphone. Similar to heroin in that it's an opiate maybe, SFA to do with cocaine or meth. Used mainly for surgical or cancer (severe) pain.

    There are fentanyl lollipops. Certain military medics have them available for combat usage, easy to hand to certain types of casualties and then take it away when the correct effect has been achieved, hand it back later if/when needed. "Couple licks'll do ya"....
