Surrey Lawyer Shafted

The Peace arch News is reporting that "The Law Society of B.C. has suspended a Surrey lawyer for three weeks, for professional misconduct. Thomas Harding’s suspension is to commence no later than Aug. 13 and is related to an incident on June 26, 2012 at a Unitow lot which he visited as his mother-in-law’s lawyer to photograph damage to her car. According to a disciplinary hearing document, Harding told a Surrey RCMP non-emergency line dispatcher, after a Unitow employee refused him access to the lot,"

“…they say they won’t let me in and…I told the lady at the switchboard that I need someone there to talk to these idiots because otherwise, you’ll have to send a police officer, probably to arrest me because I’m going to get a crowbar and smash up the place.”

Three week suspension for professional misconduct? AYFKM? Who was he speaking to? He was speaking to the non emergency number at the Surrey RCMP. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get those guys to do anything? The tow company was denying him access to photograph his client's vehicle. How about fining the tow company for that?

He wasn't talking to the tow truck company. He was talking to the police. He wasn't trying to threaten anyone. Thomas has been a reputable lawyer in Surrey for a generation. I know him. He helped me out once in a very professional manner many years ago. I learned a lot from him.

One time Thomas was sued for defamation by an "expert" witness that testified on behalf of ICBC against his client. In court Thomas did what every other lawyer is expected to do, he attacked the credibility of the "expert" witness. Thomas compared the witness to Johnny Carson’s Carnac the Magnificent character. A little humor in his eloquence. There's no crime in that.

It's just strange how someone can get a suspension at work for something they said to the police not for something they said to anyone else inside or outside of court.

Former MP charged in Investment fraud

The Toronto Star is reporting that "Former Mississauga-Streetsville MP Wajid Ali Khan has been charged by the RCMP in a $1.1 million international investment fraud" in Pakistan. Khan made headlines in 2007 when he left the Liberal Party and crossed the floor to join the Conservatives, then left politics for good in 2009." He was charged with violating the elections act in 2007.

The Meaning of Easter

Easter means different things to different people. For some Easter doesn't mean anything. For others it's a religious holiday but for kids in North America the excitement and anticipation of finding chocolate Easter eggs delivered by the Easter Bunny is a shadow of the excitement Santa brings at Christmas. You can't really dispute kids having fun. However, it's sad to hear of kids that grew up in poor areas of some Christian countries that celebrate Christmas but have never received a present on Christmas. That is indeed heartbreaking. We take so much for granted.

When I was young a Punjabi friend asked me about Easter. It was Good Friday and she said, if Friday was the day Jesus was killed, why do Christians call it good? I looked at her and just said it's kind of hard to explain. Through Christ's sacrifice we will all be resurrected and judged.

Christians believe Christ died for us on our behalf. They believe his sacrifice paid a debt we were unable to pay. It's kind of like trying to get on a bus without any bus fare. The driver says pay your fare but you have none and say I can't. Then you have to get off the bus he says. Someone else hears your dilemma and says I will pay his fare for him. Fair enough says the bus driver. You may proceed. Now there are a multitude of different kinds of Christians - Catholic, Protestant, Born Again. I don't believe that confessing Jesus is good enough to get us into heaven. I believe that is the first step. The Devil knows who Jesus is and that knowledge does not save him.

Christ said as ye sow, so shall ye reap. It's difficult to comprehend the magnitude of the pain Christ experienced in the atonement. It caused him to tremble and bleed at every pore. Mel Gibson directed a brutally graphic rendition of Christ's suffering in the Passion of Christ. Christ was no wimp. He was able to endure what the rest of us were not able to.

For Catholics, there is a huge build up to Easter called Lent. A lot of people give something up for Lent as a token of the principle of sacrifice. I attended a meaningful Maundy Thursday service in the United Church once where they washed each other's feet symbolic of when Christ washed his disciples feet at the Last Supper before his betrayal and arrest.

I remember when the Pope washed the feet of 10 young men and two young girls including two Muslims in prison on Maundy Thursday once. That was impressive. Christ taught about service. Martin Luther King said Everybody can be great because anybody can serve.

Talking about religion now seems so retro. It's not taught in the home any more. It's certainly not taught in the schools. When we lose our traditions we become diminished. I'm not celebrating Easter this year, religious or secular, but I will salute the holy day so I will and I will bow in reverence of the magnitude of that great sacrifice. Salam alaikum. Shalom aleikhem.

There's a new movie now playing in the theaters called Paul, Apostle of Christ.

So is the new Laura Croft in the new Tomb Raider movie.

Bagpipes at Punjabi Wedding

This morning I heard a bagpipe playing with some drums. I thought that doesn't sound like a snare drum like the traditional pipes and drums of Scotland. I look outside and see a Sottish guy with a bagpipe playing across from a Punjabi guy on a Dhol. The house was obviously done up for a Punjabi wedding. I walk up to the limo driver and ask is this a Scottish / Punjabi wedding?

He says no it's an Indian wedding. I'm like, we see Punjabi weddings all the time. What's with the bagpipes? He said sometimes they use bagpipes to lead the wedding procession. I'm like yeah? They have bagpipes in India? I think so he says. Evidently they do. Apparently bagpipes leading the wedding procession is quite common. I had no idea. Cool.

Vaisakhi is April 21st. Diversity makes us strong.

9/11 Victims Family Members’ Lawsuit Against the CIA Can Proceed

The Independent is reporting that a U.S. judge has ruled that family members of 9/11 victims can proceed with lawsuits against Saudi Arabia for 9/11. Welcome to the Twilight Zone. First we were told that Afghanistan was responsible for 9/11. Now it's Saudi Arabia. Despite the fact that an employee at the Passport office denied the Saudi visas and the CIA overruled him. That means the CIA is legally liable for 9/11 not Saudi Arabia.

9/11 was a horrific event. Loose Change 9/11 is an excellent documentary about 9/11 that described just what Operation Northwoods really was. 9/11: Explosive Evidence is an excellent documentary discussing the thermite found in the 9/11 ruble which is exactly what is used in controlled demolitions and explains the molten metal. Saudi Arabia did not plant explosives on the load bearing beams in all three towers. Someone else did.

This is the second time a US court has embraced a fraud surrounding 9/11. The Twin Towers were half full of asbestos. The Port Authority lost a court case requiring the insurance companies to pay for the asbestos removal May 2001. Larry Silverstein bought the WTC after the Port Authority was denied a permit to demolish the towers knowing full well about the costs of asbestos removal July 24th 2001 and insured it against terrorist attacks six weeks before 9/11.

After 9/11 Larry Silverstein and the Port Authority sued the insurance companies for double the value of the towers and won claiming that 9/11 constituent two terrorist attacks since two planes hit the twin towers. That's like getting paid double the value of your car because it was destroyed in a three car accident. That decision was fraudulent. If you insure something you insure it for the replacement cost not twice it's value. The timetable of events leading up to 9/11 is concerning.

The Independent is reporting that "Saudi Arabia had long enjoyed broad immunity from 9/11 lawsuits in the US. That changed in September 2016, when the US Congress overrode a veto by president Barack Obama and adopted the JASTA, which permits such claims to proceed. Mr Obama had warned that the law could expose US companies, troops and officials to lawsuits in other countries." Indeed. Now other countries can sue US corporations and troops for murderer, torture and file wrongful death suits. Blackwater applied for diplomatic immunity and lost.

Calgary murder suspect dead after shootout with police

A 22 year old woman named Nadia El-Dib was found murdered in Calgary March 25th. Police issued an arrest warrant for her boyfriend, Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar for her murder. CBC is reporting that he was killed in a shootout with police west of Edmonton Thursday March 29th. Nadia was described by her sister as the light of the family.

Vancouver Mayors Glutton Council give themselves a raise before election

This is further evidence the Mayors Glutton Council needs to be disbanded. Aside from being a duplication of services, all they do is think up ways to raise taxes so they can spend more money on themselves. The Vancouver Courier is reporting that "The Lower Mainland’s municipal leaders are taking some heat after voting themselves a surprise golden handshake. On Friday last week, the Metro Vancouver board voted to give themselves a 15 per cent raise, and as part of the same motion create a retirement allowance giving outgoing directors a lump sum payment of $1,100 per year they have served retroactive to 2007. Dermod Travis, executive director of the watchdog group Integrity B.C., said elected officials’ remuneration should be set by an independent body."

Outgoing Mayor Moonbeam Gregor Robertson and Surrey's Linda Hepner, the tax and spend Queen of Botox, obviously led the way voting in favor of the raises. The Mayor's Glutton council is a duplication of services. Discussing Regional issues is the Provincial government's responsibility. As one reader pointed out, New York City with a population of over 8.5 million has a single Mayor. The population of Surrey is 472,000.

Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx - they don't each have their own mayor. Brooklyn alone has a larger population than Metro Vancouver combined. Per capita Canadians aren't getting nearly the bang for their buck from their civl politicians that New Yorkers are.

"Voting against it were District of North Vancouver Mayor Richard Walton, West Vancouver’s acting mayor Mary-Ann Booth, Burnaby's Colleen Jordan and Sav Dhaliwal, Coquitlam's Brent Asmundson and Terry O’Neill, Bowen Island's Maureen Nicholson and Area A director Maria Harris." West Vancouver Mayor Michael Smith was on vacation and said that motion was not on the meeting's agenda.

Stiff Gritty freestyles in Surrey

Stiff Gritty, from Maple Ridge freestyles in Surrey. As I said before, I like Stiff Gritty. I think he has potential. He steps up to the mic and did a freestyle battle in Surrey and kinda got his ass kicked by an intellectual called Whoompthereitis who thinks going to prison is a bad life choice.

Stiff Gritty kicked Madchild's ass calling him a GHB Preditor because he aspired to something higher. Likewise Whoompthereitis kicked Stiff Gritty's ass because he realizes selling drugs and going to prison is a bad life choice. He too aspires to something higher.

When we take the higher road and lead others away from drugs and gang life we become empowered by the cause and join the league of Super Saiyans leading the world out of the darkness and into the light. I think these two should join forces.

Stiff Gritty appears to be at a cross roads in his life and his career. The question is what do you want to be and what do you want to promote? Do you want to promote drug addiction and promiscuity or do you want to promote morality and self respect. You can't sell drugs forever.

Whoomp dissed your lady but we all know that was just pretend because we hear your lady ain't a ho like the others. So if your lady is pregant then congratulations are in order. It's time to man up and take the next step away from the geriatrics on Viagra that are hoeing her friends.

Calgary police officer shot, suspect is dead

Global is reporting that "A Calgary police officer was shot Tuesday and one suspect is dead after what started as a convenience store robbery turned into an attempted carjacking, then a break-in in the northeast community of Abbeydale. Police said the suspect carried a gun and opened fire before running into a neighbourhood garage when officers tried to arrest him. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) said the injured officer, a five-year member, is recovering in stable condition at the Foothills hospital. Sources have identified the officer as Jordan Forget."

Another spike in Surrey overdoses while the Police watch and the Mayor takes a junket to France

The Peacearch News is reporting that "Fraser Health issued an overdose alert in Surrey Tuesday (March 27), following reports of at least eight drug overdoses in the city between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m." Meanwhile back on the ranch, Botox Betty sails off on another junket.

Instead of arresting the drug dealers selling tainted drugs on the Surrey Strip the RCMP are giving them police protection. That's what they refer to as criminal culpability.

Global is reporting that "With Surrey condo prices soaring, developers helped bankroll mayor’s $58K trip to Cannes." This is a glimpse into the LRT fraud in Surrey. Dirty developers pay her money as she runs around on junkets just like Dianne w/atts did. Tax and spend is their MO.
